Blurb: It's official. Angela Clark is in love – with the most fabulous city in the world!
Fleeing her cheating boyfriend and clutching little more than a crumpled bridesmaid dress, a pair of Louboutins and her passport, Angela jumps on a plane – destination NYC.
Holed up in a cut hotel room, Angela gets a New York makeover from her NBF Jenny and a whirlwind tour of the city that never sleeps. Before she knows it, Angela is dating two sexy guys. And, best of all, she gets to write about it in her new blog (Carrie Bradshaw eat your heart out). But it's one thing telling readers about your romantic dilemmas, it's another figuring them out for yourself...
Angela has fallen head over heels for the big apple, but does she heart New York more than home?
And, you know, you mentioned a break-up and no one should be on their own after a break-up. This is our complimentary "All Men Are Shits" break-up service!

People goes to LA to "find themselves", they come to New York to become someone new.

I didn't think I was the kind of girl who thrived on drama, but then my life had been so boring for so long, maybe a bit of drama would do me good. And at least it made for a more interesting blog entry than my old life would have: got up, wrote a thirty-two-page book about a talking bee, ate some calorie-controlled rice cakes, waited around for my boyfriend to come home from shagging his tennis partner, went to bed in button-up old man's pyjamas.

My thoughts: 'I heart New York' was amazing. Lured in by a stunning cover and the most fabulous city in the world, I knew it can't be a fail when I picked it up. New York is my favorite place in the world although I have never been in New York, but I would love to be. On that source I still envy Angela but I also admiring her for her courage to leave all behind and make a new start in such a big city. Angela was likeable from the start. Her life is ruined after she caught her boyfriend Mark and another woman having sex in the back of his car at them best friends' wedding. As if it weren't bad enough Angela found out all friends have known for month. Totally devastated Angela jumps on a plane to NYC and just like that Angela found her new best friend Jenny. Little later she gets a complete new look, has a first date with the Wall-Street-Banker Taylor and meets the cute rock-star Alex, who want to date her. Angela is on the mend from her heartbreaking and gets some trouble with her new job and of course with her two boyfreinds. Jenny is like an angel who rights you up if your own wings have forgotten how to fly. In the short time of three days she became a real friend to Angela. I loved the Jenny character and wish having a friend like her.
Lindsey Kelks' writing style is amazing, funny and light hearted. It was hard to put the book down. 'I heart New York' is a typical chick lit novel and the usual clichés came into play. Not that I criticize in. During the first thirty pages Angela becomes a hero. She was running away from home to a big city and within a week or two Angela gets her new best friend, a complete new look, her dream job, an appartement and two boyfriends. That's pretty fast but it is well written. The whole two men on the go was well and truly fascinating. The ralationships were awesome accurately described and for a long time it's relative unforeseeable what happens, although I had the 'right' idea. Apart from that 'I heart New York' will make you want to stop and dream for a while. I would love to take Angelas' personal NYC Guide (you'll find it at the end of this amazing book) and jump on a plane to New York City.
Finally I want to say it should be clear that 'I heart New York' isn't great literature, but a book that lifts your mood and provides light hearted fun.
